the approach:

When undertaking reviews or generating reports, my considered and empathetic approach ensures that the final document is sensitive and reflective of the people it affects, whilst remaining insightful and solution-focused.

I like to get a range of insight from a variety of perspectives to understand processes and dynamics that influence the culture and/or performance of a team or programme, allowing me to identify key areas of improvement and best practices.

My expertise also includes capability building within teams to enhance knowledge, confidence and skills in catering for wider demographics. Workshops include women and girls’ engagement, inclusive cultures and creating psychologically safe environments.

why work in this way?

it is not new knowledge that engaging people in the process provides better insight and empowerment to take ownership over the future direction, but yet so often it doesn't happen. In 2014, The Kings Fund conducted a review that found compelling evidence that NHS organisations with high levels of staff engagement – where staff are strongly committed to their work and involved in decision-making – deliver better quality care. It concluded that there was less staff sickness and turnover, a better patient experience and incredibly, a lower mortality rate.

Below are some examples of my work in action.

Welsh Judo Association

World Youth Clubs

2025-26

I produced e-learning modules on behalf of the Boys & Girls Clubs Wales, designed to be rolled out globally through the World Youth Clubs network.

These modules will support the development, leadership, and strategic positioning of youth clubs across the world, so they are better equipped to showcase their work and demonstrate impact to potential investors and key decision-makers.

Regional Sport Partnerships

2025-present

I support both the Mid Wales Sport Partnership and the Central South Active Partnership in facilitating their newly formed team forums.

These partnerships provide a way of working to adopt systems leadership, ensuring that everyone is working to influence and positively impact their area in which they have responsibility for.

These forums enable me to stay connected to the future of sport and recreation, help alleviate concerns and provide a neutral voice to bringing different partners together for the betterment of the people of the region.

Cardiff & Vale University Health Board

2021-23

As part of my role in the NHS, I led a comprehensive review of staff health and wellbeing during a pivotal time as they were processing and dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

I introduced workshops, training and interventions with psychological safety at the heart of the session, resulting in a report of recommendations being presented to the Board of Directors in 2021 for genuine, long-term intervention.s

These recommendations were approved and distributed across the relevant departments to implement the changes for long-term impact..

Run Wales research

2026

Running across the UK has boomed in recent years amongst adults and teens, yet traditional 'membership' has remained relatively static.

The team at Run Wales and Welsh Athletics wanted to explore the motivations, needs and wants of runners in Wales and thus implement the recommended approaches.

I conducted desk based research of groups operating across Wales, conducted consultation within formal and informal groups and attended mass participation events to capture a broad range of views.

These findings were collated into a report and presented to the Board and leadership team for implementation.

Football Association of Wales

2026

I have been appointed to lead the mentoring programme for the PAWB programme, providing individuals from underrepresented backgrounds access to the football industry, leaders and opportunities to broaden their network and build their confidence.

My role entails facilitating workshops and support programmes for the mentors who will in turn, support the mentees.

Wales Development Forum

2024-present

I lead the Wales Development Forum, on behalf of Sport Wales, bringing colleagues from across the sport, recreation and activity sector together to share learning, challenges and opportunities.

The forum is a blend of round tables, guest speakers, panel discussions and partner spotlight sessions on topics that are most prevalent for the sector and the people they serve.

Topics have included youth voice, capitalising on major events, volunteer recruitment and retention, policy and public affairs updates, inclusive and innovative approaches to sport and understanding insight and data usage.
